How to play Linewit

Linewit is a free daily word game about saying something your own way. Each day brings a different task: describe an object or place, reply to an invitation, repair a small mistake, or write a warm wish.

One sentence, three constraints

1. Answer the day’s prompt in one natural English sentence.
2. Stay within the word limit shown on that puzzle.
3. Avoid its forbidden words and listed forms.

Contractions count as one word. Hyphens split words. Numbers count too. Capitals, extra spaces, and stylized letters do not create a new answer or avoid a forbidden word.

Meaning matters

Word counts and forbidden words are checked by the game. Jev evaluates whether your sentence meets that puzzle’s meaning requirement, reads naturally, and answers the prompt. A close call stays off the rankings; you can reword your line or flag the judgment for review.

Accepted answers join a public answer wall. The first valid submission of a distinct line gets the discovery credit. Repeating a line still counts as a solve. Different wording can earn a new discovery, and equally short lines share the shortest record.

Play first. Share when you’re proud.

You can play and share without an account. Copy a challenge link or save a result image. Hide your answer if you want your friend to try first. Shared links open the same dated puzzle, even after the next daily challenge arrives.

Your guest notebook stays with this browser. Optional email sign-in links your records across devices when email sign-in is available. Claiming a guest discovery keeps its original submission order.

When does the next puzzle arrive?

The daily challenge changes at midnight UTC. Follow the reveal countdown on the game page. Previous challenges remain playable any time — open Past puzzles in the top navigation, or follow a dated link from a friend. A fresh prompt is curated for every day through December 31, 2026; it is not a game about describing the same place every day.
